#momfail

My mornings while MD's daddy is gone are chaos! Getting the three littles up, dressed and ready for the day and making it on time to MD's little brothers school is not an easy task and I always forget something it seems!

The other morning was especially trying! MD's little brother is NOT a morning person! If I can't get him out of bed on the right note I can guarantee we will have an epic sensory meltdown. Sure enough we did. To the point I had to haul him to the car kicking and screaming and kneel on him to buckle him in the car.

Once we made it to school he was perfect and ready to go! When we get there I usually leave the car on and AC running since it's been in the high 90's and today was no different...except my car doors locked after I shut my door! WTH!!! MD's little brother had pulled his handle locking the doors! I asked a parent that had just pulled up if they would have the director call the MP station to send someone.

MD's little brother is 3 and in a 5 point harness car seat yet so he was unable to unbuckle. He was however watching his DVD, sipping his water bottle and enjoying the AC while I was standing in the heat, haha!

20 minutes later here comes the firetruck lights on and sirens blaring. Fantastic LOL!

They got him out in minutes and we were on our way! I must say they were all incredibly nice and offered to show him the truck, ha!  All before 9am ;)

Another day, Another braid!

MD's daddy is gone, her brother is home from school (he didn't sleep at all last night) and I'm fairly certain I have a sinus infection(my face is swollen and around my eyes...legit black and yellow?!??) so the kids and I are having a lazy day!

After non-existent nap time I told MD I'd do her hair since she's pretty bored of entertaining herself. We tried another cute style we found at http://www.cutegirlshairstyles.com ! It turned out great, MD loves the "flower" and best of all took about 5 minutes!!

Barbie's lookin a hot mess?

Alright ladies...

If you are a control freak like me you hate even seeing your daughter TOUCH barbies hair, let alone try and brush it!

But, I turn away and let MD have at it. I mean, that's why we got them... So she could play with them!

Then the heavens opened up and I learned how to fix Barbies hair! A tiny bit of fabric softener on the Barbie brush is literally all it takes! I was beyond excited about this!

We put her hair in a big top knot since she was going to a ball, but before this she looked like a lion with mange!

Diva Delivery - SammyDress

Hey Guys! Guess what, we got our package from SammyDress delivered this week filled with our free goodies for review/promotion!

I have to call and check on the headband we ordered since it wasn't in the package but we got A dress, 2 hats, a pair of sunglasses and our MIA headband all for under $25! If you place an order don't forget to use our promo code RAMD at checkout for 10% off your ENTIRE purchase!

The sizes run a bit small, which they state on the site and give you a sizing chart to use. We ordered the dress according to the sizing chart and it fits MD perfect with the exception of the length, which is always a problem for this girl. Nothing a good pair of leggings couldn't fix!

The hats got a bit bent out of shape on their way to us as they were just mailed in an envelope with no paper or anything to help keep the form. I was a bit sad about that since they are SO ADORABLE and really nice quality! We worked this one a little and it seems to have made a recovery ;)

We love our items and loved the prices on them even more! The details on the dress are amazing! With the way this MD is growing, We're buying her new clothes every couple of months!

Street Smart, Sesame Street Smart!

Recently I've heard a lot in regards to children learning as much from episodes of Sesame Street as

they would attending a preschool program. I have to believe this to an extent but still believe a preschool program is beneficial. It has been especially helpful with my son and his ongoing SPD issues. Obviously I don't believe those behind the study are hoping to replace preschool programs with the television program but more so point out not all tv time is terrible.

Anyways, Back to our post....

WE WENT TO SESAME STREET LIVE! Thanks to the give away of tickets we hosted we were able to attend the show for free with our friend Amanda (check out her blog, Somewhere Over The Camo) and her little peanut and it was adorable.

The characters, the set, all of it was just too cute! I was so excited...oh, the kids were, too! ;) This
show was about Grover's friend traveling from another country and how we should celebrate differences in cultures/people. What a great message, fun songs and awesome show. My littles loved dancing around and clapping to the music. I highly recommend attending a Sesame Street Live show if you get the chance!

We weren't able to stay for most of the show as we had an emergency come up but the kids certainly enjoyed what we were there for.

QUICK SIDENOTE: I do wish I would have seen more seats filled at the show. It is amazing how frequently we say there is nothing to do with the kids or as a family and then we don't take advantage of all the things we are lucky to have in our area. We have to remember if we don't use it we lose it. I would hate for us to not get the opportunity to do things like this someday because of all the empty seats.

Bowtiful Braid

We had a great week in our house.

I accepted a position with an office I'm very excited about and my husband had his pinning ceremony.

For his promotion we dressed up and MD wanted fancy hair. I turned to the inter webs and remembered a cool braid I had seen on Cute Girls Hairstyles .

It turned out to be a lot easier than I expected and it is super adorable. When I was done I loved it but I wish I would have brought the loops under the braid closer to her face rather than the further back side, as it would have laid flatter in the front that way, but I wasn't about to redo it all.

Customize Your Crack...ERR I Mean Starbucks!

k, guys... This is in no way, shape or form a sponsored/paid post.

I JUST LOVE THESE <3

Here it is. Your current must have/impulse buy!

How cute are these DIY customized Starbucks coffee cups?! I typically go to Starbucks twice a week (I know, I have a serious problem) and you save $.10 each time you use your refillable cup! For me, that could add up to a savings of.... Ok, it's not a ton but it helps me justify my addiction...a little!

If you want to check out these awesome cups along with many other hand/homemade items from a very sweet military spouse I know, head on over to Bigs N Littles on Facebook.

Braid Me Silly

MD is obsessed with growing long hair like Rapunzel...

Yet, she hates doing anything with her hair.

This leaves us with a shaggy child or a braid. I usually opt for a braid of sorts.

This week I was sick of the boring braid, french braid, or fishtail that we always do so I found myself a couple other options and did the reverse fishtail. HOW PRETTY!

I watched THIS tutorial and tweaked it since MD doesn't like the side braid.

The Indoor S'more

We were feeling brave and decided to join a few of our friends for a family camping trip. Yep, that's right. I packed up my family of 5, kids from 6years to 8months, and we headed to the lake to set up tent!

It was amazing. We had a blast. Everyone got sun burnt.

When we came home a day early we had S'more goodies left over. I decided to spoil the kids and make S'more at home.

They were so easy to make MD basically did it all on her own.

Preheat the oven to 350 F while you layer Graham cracker, Chocolate bar, and marshmallow on a flat cookie sheet. Bake in the oven for roughly 10 mins, the marshmallow will get goey and golden when it's done! Pull from the oven and top with another graham cracker and ENJOY!
